My trainer always said to me that nature never gets if wrong and she is so right. I will show you what I mean by looking at things in nature and transferring the colours into what you wear. Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations.

We have all heard to saying, “Blue and green should never be seen unless there is a colour in between” This is so not true now days. Green with denim is a great combination because there are so many shades of green and blue to choose from. What is important is that you choose two warm colours or two cool colours which will tone with each other. I took this picture today in Dorothy Perkins in Debenhams. Here we have denim jeans and a patterned green print top.  It works well with the denim and you could bring out the red in the print by adding a red belt,  wear red shoes with a red handbag.

Navy and a bright green look great together and make a great combination for a wedding outfit. Use jewellery, and accessories when putting your outfits together. Scarves are usually full of bright colours and make a great addition to any outfit. Coloured shoes and handbags also help to make a well put together outfit.

Take this beautiful yellow rose in my garden. This was planted when we lost Max our Patterdale Terrier and it has grown beyond belief. In this rose there are several shades of yellow with the green leaves. Some of my clients like to wear darker colours on the bottom so a green skirt of trousers and then team with a yellow top. However, there is nothing to stop you wearing yellow trousers and a green patterned top. Why not introduce another colour a creamy white in a cardigan or jacket? With these three colours you can mix and match into a variety of combinations.

This photo was taken in John Lewis and shows a yellow top  paired with some khaki trousers both by Hush. See how nice they look together. The photo does not do the colour justice, this really was a pretty yellow.

If y our are a Winter or Summer, these two colours look fab together, a dark winter green and a bright pink in whatever combination you choose. However, if you are a Spring or Autumn, try these lovely shades of bright green with an orange red. These two make a  a great colour combination.

I would suggest that you wear the colour where you want to draw the eye. For those of you carry your weight around your middle, where the darker colour there, and draw the eye up with the brighter colour on top. You can add another colour that tones with these two for a cardigan, jacket, or coat.
