I love colour for how it makes me look and feel. I have been away for the weekend and visited Chichester, and what a lovely City it was. Here were lots of independent shops and boutiques to browse around. This I saw in a shop window, and I was drawn in by the beautiful colours. The gentleman who owned the shop sourced all his own materials and made everything himself. Everything was beautifully made in all these striking colours. I was very tempted, but I do have a poncho, and these were an investment buy, but it got me thinking. I love colour for how it makes me look and feel, but these colours I found were a little too bright even for me. There were others in less striking colours, but I was drawn to this one. Although I did love the poncho I decided not to buy as I thought I would tire of it. I love colour for how it makes me look and feel. I love colour for how it makes me look and feel. Fashion trends change so quickly so you would have to be buying fast fashion. Do you have the ideal figure? Do you follow fashion or do you have your own style? The ideal figure is very much a product of It’s time. Queen Victoria was barely 5 feet tall and was an influencer of her day. She was small and dainty, and women wore flat slippers to be as short as possible. Paintings in the 17th century showed women with an ample covering of flesh at a time when most women couldn’t afford to be so well fed. So how did we get from short and fat to where we are today. In the 1920s the bust-to-waist ratio of the ideal female figure changed dramatically. Curves went out and a straight up and down boyish figure became fashionable. Women bound their breasts to appear to be flat chested. By the 1950s after privations of the second world war the pendulum had swung the other way, and the well-fed hourglass figure of Marilyn Monroe became ideal. Adverts encouraged skinny women to take weight gain tablets supplements. In the 1960’s & 70s it swung back the other way and the athletic slim figure was ideal, strange. Since that time there has been various types of thinness until recently you can buy cycling shorts with …
