Will you be going back to the High Street in April?

Will you be going back to the High Street in April? Will you be going back to the High Street in April? I will as I cannot wait to get back to normal whatever the new normal will be. I have really missed the whole retail experience. Being able to touch, feel, and see, what I am buying means so much to me. As I have said before the colours online do not always look the same as in person. This was the reason why I decided not to take my business online. I have an  example in a blog a wrote about a red jumper that I ordered online and how different the colour looked in the flesh. I also love going out with a friend having a look around the shops and not necessarily buying anything. Stopping for a coffee or lunch and having a nice girly time. Will you be going back to the High Street in April? Following on from last week’s blog where you were freeing yourself from clutter and spring cleaning your wardrobe. You may now have some gaps you would like to fill. Perhaps you have had to let go certain items that were past their sell by date and you now need to replace a few things. You can look online from the comfort of your home to get an idea for what is available, but I will wait until the shops open next month before I buy. Most sites have a…

Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations

Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations My trainer always said to me that nature never gets if wrong and she is so right. I will show you what I mean by looking at things in nature and transferring the colours into what you wear. Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations. Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations We have all heard to saying, “Blue and green should never be seen unless there is a colour in between” This is so not true now days. Green with denim is a great combination because there are so many shades of green and blue to choose from. What is important is that you choose two warm colours or two cool colours which will tone with each other. I took this picture today in Dorothy Perkins in Debenhams. Here we have denim jeans and a patterned green print top.  It works well with the denim and you could bring out the red in the print by adding a red belt,  wear red shoes with a red handbag. Navy and a bright green look great together and make a great combination for a wedding outfit. Use jewellery, and accessories when putting your outfits together. Scarves are usually full of bright colours and make a great addition to any outfit. Coloured shoes and handbags also help to make a well put together outfit.     Yellow, Green & Cream as a colour combination Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations Nature…

How to make more outfits from your existing wardrobe

How to make more outfits from your existing wardrobe I think that one thing I have learnt during this lock down period is that probably most ladies have more clothes than they need. This makes choosing an outfit hard as we have so much to choose from. Do you really need to buy anything new? Or do you just like having something new to wear? I am going to share with you how you can make more outfits from your existing wardrobe. How to make more outfits from your existing wardrobe Rule number one never buy anything new unless you have three things in your wardrobe that you can wear with it. You do not want to have to purchase something else to go with it. What you are looking to do here is to build a wardrobe of things that all work with each other. This means you need less clothes but can make more outfits. How to make more outfits from your existing wardrobe I  have recently had a birthday and one of my good friends bought me a voucher for a boutique called  JoJoBlue  in Danbury. Today I visited the store and bought this lovely orange top. The beauty of this top is that you can wear it four ways. You can see in this short video; I have teamed it with a floral skirt. I could also wear it with denim jeans, cut off trousers, white linen trousers, beige cotton skirt, and navy wide leg trousers.…

My top tips on experimenting with colour combinations

My top tips on experimenting with colour combinations It is always nice to put different colour combinations together rather than say black and white. (Well I do not consider black or white to be a colour really, they are just at opposite ends of the colour spectrum) With so many beautiful colours out there I think it is a shame not to embrace colour. Apart from the way you feel in a certain colour it is nice to try different colour combinations that you may not have tried before. Her are my top tips on experimenting with colour combinations My top tips on experimenting with colour combinations Take a navy or black skirt, do not reach for the white blouse, think about which colours you know that suit you and choose one of those. Navy and black are both good staple colours to have in your wardrobe as so many colours would team up well which is why they are a good wardrobe staple. If you look at nature it never gets it wrong. If you look at nature it never gets it wrong. When you are next out walking have a look at the beautiful array of colours and see how beautiful they look together. The old wives’ tale “Blue and green should never be seen unless there is a colour in between” see how wrong that is. I wear a lot of denim and I  particularly love lime green and it goes very well with blue/denim. I think…
