Change the colour your are wearing to change your mood

Can this be true? YES, it can, it has been proven that colour can enhance your mood. This blog is following on from last week’s blog “Can wearing colour really change the way you feel?” In this blog post we looked at the two heart chakra colours pink and green. This week we are looking at Red, Blue, and Purple and their properties and when to wear these colours. Change the colour you are wearing to change your mood.

You really can choose colours that will change your mood and make you feel better. How does not want to that at this moment in time, I think we can all do with a little help on how to make ourselves feel better and more able to cope in these difficult times.

Change the colour you are wearing to change your mood

Red

Red is the base or root charka which activates the circulatory and nervous systems. It is known to raise blood pressure but can strengthen and stimulate the body. Our blood contains red blood corpuscles which provides nourishment to our organs. It will give you energy, so if you are tired wear something red and consciously breath its energy into your body. If red is too strong a colour for you to wear as a jumper you can wear red socks or underwear so you can have the energic properties of the colour.

Red is the colour of assertiveness, enthusiasm, spontaneity, and courage. The negative sides of the colour are aggression, impatience, anger, and recklessness. It is the most dominate colour in the spectrum and represents action. Red is not a colour that you would want to wear when you are trying to unwind and relax at the end of the day.

Wearing Red

When wearing red make sure you choose the correct red for your skin tone. For warm tones (Spring & Autumn) you need to choose a yellow based red. For cool tones (Winter & Summer) you need to choose a blue based red.

Blue

Blue is the throat chakra which represents communication, peace, and knowledge. Blue stimulates muscle and skin cells, nerves, and the circulatory system. The colour blue is cool and calming, inspiring mental clarity and inner peace. It is known to give us security and has been shown to lower blood pressure by calming the autonomic nervous system. A deep blue is also able to stimulate the pituitary gland. Blue is a spiritual colour as well as a business colour. When we strive for success in business we reach for the sky, the stars, or the top of the mountain, all of which symbolically lead the eye up to the blue sky, thus representing high aspiration in general.

Wearing Blue

Wear blue when you want to appear business-like. Wear pale shades of blue when you want to appear calm, innocent, and naïve. Blue is the colour of logic so wear when you have that difficult letter or email to write.

Purple

Purple is the Crown Chakra on the top of your head which is for inspiration, service, and support. Shades of purple have been used to help calm people with nervous or mental imbalances. Purple is the colour of transformation at a deep level. |purple is the most complex colour on the colour wheel. It is a combination of the spiritual blue and red. Purple is popular in all its level of colour from a bright purple down to a watered-down lavender. The colour has spiritual connotations and an association with royalty.

Wearing Purple

You can wear shades of purple to help calm you down if you are nervous. Purple is a colour of transformation at a deep level. People who like wearing purple are usually creative, knowledgeable, and mysterious. They follow their intuition, which is rarely wrong. Wear purple when you want to feel regal or classy. It is difficult sometimes to find a warm purple as most of them have a strong blue undertone so if you do have a warm skin tone be careful on the purple you choose.
