The problem and cure to my jumpsuit dilemma

I have always wanted a jumpsuit and this year when they seem to be on trend and I thought that I would be able to find one. How wrong could I be. Just a bit of background if you don’t know me, I am tall and slim, but I do have a long waist and long legs. So, coupled with the long body and long legs it’s difficult to get the fit. So here is the problem and cure to my jumpsuit dilemma.

When I saw this jumpsuit on the hanger I thought I like this one. First for me is to get the colours right and I loved the colours of this one. Orange red background with a floral pattern this is looking good. I

quickly tried it on and the leg was long enough and so was the body to I rushed to the till and bought it.

When I got home and tired it on I began to see why this one was not right. For a start the top, was too big and kept falling off my shoulder. The sleeves were too big, and you could see into the top but the waist sat in the right place. There was too much material around the middle that it did nothing for my figure and the pattern was a little overwhelming.

If when you are trying something on it is a good idea to take a photo in the changing room as you can see the overall look so much better in a photograph like I did in this photo. I so wanted this to look good but unfortunately it was not to be.

So, my hunt for my ideal jumpsuit was still on and since then I have tried several others which for various reasons where not right. It is important to know your own body shape, so you can learn how to dress it to your best advantage as we all want to be the very best version of ourselves.

I have not given up the search yet, but I have come upon a compromise for the time being. I decided to go for a floral print palazzo trouser and bought these ones in Roman Originals. They were on offer from £28 down to £22. I thought they would be useful on holiday as you could pick out several of the colours in tops. Dress down with a vest for day time or in the evening a nice blouse. They have the bonus of a shearing elastic waist for added comfort and are in a nice soft fabric that won’t crease so ideal for holidays.

On looking in my wardrobe I have found several tops that I can team with these trousers, so they will make several outfits. This is an orange knitted top, but I have t/shirts and blouses in red orange and yellow that will work with these trousers. Whilst I have not given up hope that I might one day get a jumpsuit to fit my body shape in the meantime I have this option too.
