How to fake a slim waist with my hot tips

This is something that I try to do all the time.  I have a very boyish figure, straight up and down with very little definition for a waist. There are several things you can do to give the illusion of curves, even if they are not there.  Stay away from big baggy styles with no structure.  Here’s my ideas on how to fake a slim waist with my hot tips.

¾ length sleeves – Wearing tops and blouses with ¾ length sleeves help to emphasize your waist.

Fitted Jackets These really do give an illusion of a curvy figure, go for one that is not too short and flares out over your hips of maximin effect. This one I found in Dorothy Perkins at £40

Skirts – If you can find one that is cut on the bias, and flares out at the bottom this really will work well. They are not easy to find but they really are a flattering effect for the boyish figure and will add balance.  A line skirts are another option as they are wider at the bottom.

Trousers – If you are looking to eventuate your waist choose a trouser with a wider bottom, either boot cut, flared, or palazzos trousers .  These will suit most shapes as they balance your legs and skin your hips making your waist look smaller.  If you are looking to disguise a muffin top try waisted or high waisted trousers as this will also make your legs look longer.

Dresses – Always a difficult one because not everyone’s waist is in the same place. Some of us are high waisted, some long waisted etc, and for that reason I always choose a dress that is not waisted at all.   This one I found also in Dorothy Perkins at £32. This is denim and I would add a red leather belt and red shoes to complete this outfit. This way you can add a belt separately and wear on your actual waist. A tie waist will create curves, where vertical stripes to streamline the look.

Shirts & Blouses – Fitted shirts are always my favourite but if you are a big busted lady you need to check the buttons fasten in the right place.  Wear them tucked into your skirt or trousers/jeans.  If you are having a fat day, you can wear them outside and wear the belt on top.

Wrap tops –  These work well on the larger busted lady as it will show off your bust and you can wear a camisole underneath if you are conscious of revealing too much flesh.

Belts & Accessories – Always a great way to create an outfit using your own sense of style. It’s a question of trying new ideas and colours. If you wear a nice necklace in the neck it will draw the eyes up.
