Ditch the winter blues and add colour to your wardrobe

Why do the media have to focus on the negative? BLUE MONDAY what is that all about? We have dark days and it gets dark early so why not inject some colour into your wardrobe. You don’t have to wear top to tow colour but by wearing some will brighten you day. Ditch the winter blues and add some colour to your wardrobe.

Many ladies like to wear black as they think that it is slimming. When I ask the question, why do you wear black? I usually get one of these two replies

  • The problem is I don’t know which colours would suit me.
  • Being shy I don’t like to draw attention to myself,

In winter months when it is cold and dark, we need a colour to make us look and feel fantastic. Colour can not only look good but feel good too. Colour has an energy which is much needed this time of year. You can wear your favourite black jeans but wear a nice coloured jumper on the top.

Just by adding a pop of colour to a plain outfit can make all the difference. If you have a uniform for work, they are usually in a dark colour, try adding a colourful scarf in the neck. Try adding a statement necklace in your favourite colour or ramp up the colour in your accessories. A brightly coloured hand bag or pair of shoes.

Take this striped jumper from Marks & Spencer  at £17.50 Look how it looks great with this skirt, or you could team with some black jeans. It brings a fresh colourful look, whilst keeping you warm. If you carry your weight on your top half these horizontal stripes may not be the best for you, but you get the idea.

This lovely red cardigan has my name on it.  From Marks & Spencer at £19.50. You will be able to wear this over so many things, it will go great with jeans, over a smart dress or skirt and good with trousers.  Wear a skinny rib jumper, or long sleeved top underneath or team over your favourite white shirt. In fact, I may have to order this!!

Look how this cardigan transforms a very plain pair of jeans and white t/shirt. The scarf is a nice touch too. If red is not your colour choose a colour that you know works with your skin tone.
