I love to stroll around the shops, not necessarily looking to buy anything, but just looking to see what is out there. It’s interesting to look at the models in the stores as they are always show casing the latest stock and trends. When I was in John Lewis this week, I noticed that the models at the top of the stairs where all dressed in Grey. I know if I were to wear all grey, I would feel all grey. Here I explain why I think wearing colour is so important.
Why I think wearing colour is so important.
If You look at this picture what do you see? Your eyes are not drawn to anywhere, even the shoes are black or white. They don’t even have any coloured jewellery or perhaps a scarf to add any colour. There is nothing wrong with wearing some grey but add some colour to it.
Why I think wearing colour is so important.
Walking around the store I did find some colour and in fact in their own brand I found some bright orange tops and jumpers but you don’t have to go that bright. We can all wear different levels of colour and it is important to find the right level of colour for you. I know that some ladies are frightened of wearing colour because they don’t want to stand out. Or because they don’t know what suits them. Some just like to blend into a crowd.
Even a pale or muted colour can make all the difference
Let’s look at this picture where you can see there is some colour, all be it muted colours. If you were to buy several of these items, you would be able to make a lot of outfits. All these combinations are more pleasing to the eye in the soft colours. I am not sure if that is a paisley dress, or top and skirt but it looks like it must come in a top as it is underneath the peach sweat top. That teamed with the denim skirt is a nice blend of colour. (I am afraid I would have a skirt without the fringe).
How many outfits can you make?
You can see how you can mix and match by wearing the sweat top over the top of the dress to create a different look. The camel coat is a wardrobe staple that you could have in your wardrobe for years to come. White jeans and a denim blouse also work well to mix and match in any wardrobe. Whether you like these colours or not, you have to admit that they offer more interest. I am trying to show how even a little bit of colour can make a huge difference.
The eye is drawn to where you put the colour
You have probably heard to wear dark colours on the areas of your body you don’t like. So, if you feel that you carry your weight around your lower body, wear dark trousers or skirt. You can then put the colour in the top that you are wearing. Don’t forget you can also put the colour in your accessories with a brightly coloured necklace or scarf.
Why I think wearing colour is so important.
I love wearing bright colours and red and orange are my favourite because they carry a lot of energy. I also know that they suit me very well and so that gives me confidence to wear them. Sometimes I feel drawn to wearing green which is the colour of the heart chakra and sometimes I like to bring out my feminine side and wear a warm shade of pink. You will never see me in all black or all grey because they offer no energy and black particularly can make you seem unapproachable. You are always remembered for what you wear, so make that great first impression.
Why should I have a colour consultation?
Out of all the services that I offer I think the Colour Consultations are my favourite. I never tire of talking about colour and how it makes you look and feel. Showing ladies, the difference in wearing what is right and what is wrong for the individual is so lovely. I love seeing the look on their faces as they watch their own face change with the change of colour. It is so liberating to see the transformation. Once you know which colours work for you, you will be able to make more outfits with less clothes.
I take photographs throughout the session which I will forward after to you afterwards reminding you of our session. Some ladies hang that in their wardrobe as reminder of what looks good and which does not. You will go home with a colour swatch to take shopping and a digital one on your phone.
