So what is new this season? In this blog I am going to give you some ideas of some on trend items you can buy to update your current wardrobe. Choose something in a style that suits your body shape, and a colour that flatters your skin tone. Here are my top tips on how to how to be on trend with this seasons must have’s
High neck blouses with lace fronts are everywhere on the high street, some are more formal in a nice white cotton fabric and others inmany colours in more sheer fabrics. This is a very versitile item for our wardrobe as it can be worn with a suit for work or looks equally nice dressed with a pair of jeans.
Jeans for the winter are best in a dark denim and many this season have some kind of embelisment or embroidery on so there is plenty of choice available.
Hats are also around and what better way to keep warm in the winter.
Velvet is another key trend, you will find skirts, trousers, and dresses around for the Christmas Party season in most stores. I have found this lovely velvet jacket from Mango and it is great for dressing up or down. ( Unfortunately I remmember when they were in fashion the first time round). This one ticks all the boxes as it is also military style which always seems to stay in fashion and I have just realised I have one still in my wardrobe in a chocolate brown velvet. I will need to get that one out again. Choose a colour that suits your colouring and don’t just go for trusty black, if you wear a lot of denim you could try navy for a change as black can be so draining for many ladies.
Faux Fur is still very strong and can be found in many winter coats and gilets and these all come in many designs. I am looking for one myself but want to find a short one which is fitted but there are plenty around that are longline which will be warm. These are great for layering particulary at this time of the season before the really cold weather sets in.
You can also update your wardrobe with some new accessories. Try adding a new belt to your jeans, or a new statement necklace to a plain top or blouse. You could add a new hand bag in one of the autumn colours.
In the winter coloured tights are a good way to update a dress or if the dress is plain try a patterned textured pair with some flat ballet shoes.
Metalic This is for the very fashion concious and is available in Shoes, Handbags and also matalic fabrics as well for tops, skirts, dresses. Have fun with it, you don’t have to dress head to toe. These sneakers are very nice and go with so many outfits and this jacket is a great extra to add to your wardrobe.
You can also have metalic nails and various make up brands have metalic makeup as well.
