Purple is the colour of 2018, so how will you wear it?

Pantone’s colour of the year 2018 is Ultra Violet.

Violet is a powerful colour, good to wear for interviews, it’s also a spiritual colour. It is a mix of blue  and rose pink, so most violets are cool as they have the blue undertone. If you add white to violet you get lavender. Some people may think that purple is not one of their colours particularity, if you have a warm skin tone, but there are some warm purples out there to consider. So, purple is the colour of 2018, so how will you wear it?

  • Do you like the colour purple?
  • Do you currently wear purple?
  • Would you like to wear purple?
  • What colour would you wear with purple? (And don’t say white!!)

I am going to share with you some ideas on how to wear the colour purple. If you have a warm skin tone you need to look for a purple that has a yellow undertone giving a warm look to the colour. If you have a cool skin tone you need to go for a purple which will have a blue undertone. (more of a violet colour). If you are wearing the purple next to your face it must be the right one.

What colour can you wear with the purple? now here is where we can get creative. As you know I love colour and I don’t consider black or white to be a colour, so I would avoid either of those.

So, let’s have some fun!!

Here I have chosen a warm purple top and teamed with a lovely strong green high waist trousers. I have put with it a pair of green court shoes and a green and navy hand bag. (Shoes and bags don’t need to match these days)

The green shoes and hand bag will work with navy, black or denim that you will probably already have in your wardrobe.

I have chosen a purple check skirt and teamed that with a lovely bright pink blouse. I decided to go for some purple boots as I thought you could wear those with lots of other items in your wardrobe. They will look great with your jeans and perhaps a purple jumper/top. When buying something new it is always nice if the item can be worn with plenty of things you already have.

  1. Purple and Gold is my favorite color.

    1. That is a great colour combination. Purple is the colour of transformation at a deep level. Purple is a combination of spiritual blue and sensual red.The colour has a spiritual connotation and a association with royalty. Shades of purple have been used to help calm people with nervous or mental imbalances.
