Are you ready to bare all this summer in your swim wear? After a long winter of being covered up, I am sure we are all a little shy about baring all in our swimwear. So, here are my tips on choosing the right swimwear for your body shape.

Do you choose a swim suit or a bikini?  That is up to you and personal preference and there is so much to choose from. If you have a holiday planned where you will be in a water park for arguments sake I would  go for a costume. If you are a sun worshipper and have the figure for it why not choose a bikini.

Tummy Technology

How do I disguise my tummy? This is a question I get asked all the time and there are now lots of tummy-controlled swim suits available. They usually have a control panel on the front and many offer some rushing at the sides. These can be found in Swimsuits and Bikinis.

Swimsuits

I love this one from Marks & Spencer  by Rosie at Autograph.  Secret Slimming Palm Print Bandeau Swimsuit at £35.00 It has the tummy control and is chlorine resistant. Non-wired, removable cups and detachable straps.

Shape wear products

Just beware that any shape wear products you may need to go up a size to look your normal size if that makes sense. If you are long in the body like me, Marks & Spencer do offer a few costumes in a longer length.

Bikini’s

There is so much to choose, and a lot of stores now are doing several styled tops to go with several shaped bottoms. You can choose the style of bottom either shorts, tie sides, or tummy-controlled with your preference in a top. You could buy several and mix and match.

I think it is best to try a few on and see what works for you. You may need to go up a size to get a comfortable fit. Look at the patterns some have different coloured sides which give a good illusion which can be very flattering.

Boyish figure

Want to add some curves, try a swimsuit with a waistband in the form of a band of colour on the waist. It could be a colour block or even a narrow belt, but it will give the illusion of a waist.

Full Busted

If you are a full busted lady, you need to make sure that you are getting the right support. Go for a cup size in either a swimsuit of bikini. Halter neck styles will even out your body while making the most of your assets.

Small busted

This is easy to remedy as you can go for some pre-formed cups that will give you some shape. Or, you can choose a padded option. Just beware that once you have been in the pool they do hold the water in those cups!!

Pear Shaped

If you are smaller on the top and have heavier hips and thighs you have a pair shaped figure. Look for styles with lots of colour and detail on the top half. This will detract from you lower half and draw the eye up your body. High cut bottoms will make your legs look longer. Wear a high waist bikini bottom as this will help hold in your tummy.
