Are you wearing the correct underwear?

It is so important to wear the correct underwear to show off your clothes to the best advantage. Get it wrong and you see all the lumps and bulges and your knicker line.  Are you wearing the correct underwear? Here are my top tips on how to get it right.

Are you wearing the correct underwear?

If you look at your underwear as the foundation to what you are going to wear over the top. You can make a smooth canvas for whatever you wear over the top. My first stop for underwear is Marks & Spencer as shown here, but I do understand if you are a larger busted lady you might to look at other stores.  Bravissimo or Rigby & Peller who are more expensive but an investment buy.

Are you wearing the right sized bra?

It is important to get your bra size checked regularly, particularly, if your weight goes up and down. A large percentage of ladies are wearing the wrong sized bra and not making the most of their fabulous curves. If you have a large bust, you do need a bra with adequate support to hold you bust in the correct place. You need to ensure that the band around the chest it not too tight as this will cause the flesh to spill over the top. If the cup size is too small you will get another bust overflowing the cup. Too big and it may pucker. I have known clients that have found their waist when wearing the correct bra.

Every women needs several different bras in her wardrobe to wear with different outfits and here are a few alternatives.

  • Strapless
  • T/Shirt bra to wear under tight fitting tops
  • Underwired plunge bra for open necked tops
  • Enhancer bra for the smaller bust
  • Full cup bra for the fuller bust

It is also important to feel nice in what you are wearing. Be adventurous and choose underwear in nice colours don’t just always go for black, white or cream. We all need some in these colours. Have some fun and choose some in fun colours. This will also give you some energy and know one knows what you are wearing underneath.

My pet hate is ladies who wear white clothes with a black bra. I have never understood that look any more than a camisole with a bra with straps. Perhaps I am getting old!!!

Now these are very personal, but your aim must be for them not to be seen in your clothes. Nothing is worse than when you bend over your thong can be seen. Also, you don’t want to have a (VPL) visual panty line. I would suggest that you go up a size in knickers particularly if you are going for ones with support. (Spanx). To get a nice line when you are wearing a fitted dress go for pant that finishes at the waist, some even go up to the bust. Just check the lines under your clothes before leaving the house.

There are lots of other versions on the high street, full length slips, bodies with legs in if you have large legs. My advice is to try them under your fitted clothes and see the effect. You may have to try several makes and different sizes, but it is worth the investment in time to get the right product for you.

Tights Stockings or Hold ups?

To get that smooth line I think stockings are not an option, but hold ups are a good alternative if tights are not your thing.
