Do you wear everything in your wardrobe?

Do you actually wear everything in your wardrobe?
Do you actually wear everything in your wardrobe?

I guess not many people can say yes to this question? When you think that most women wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time. Do you wear everything in your wardrobe? Or is your wardrobe bulging with clothes that still have their tags on? This is something that I don’t understand, why would you not take back something that you were not going to wear.

Do you wear everything in your wardrobe?

I don’t know about you but when I have bought something new I bring it home and try it on with what I have, to see if I want to keep it and if not, I return it to store. If it’s a top I, make sure that I have at least three things I can wear it with. The same goes for trousers I need several tops/and or jackets/cardigans I can wear with them. I understand that a lot of ladies do not do this, and new purchases go into the wardrobe where sometimes they can sit for ages and not be worn.

I have nothing to wear?

Could it be that you have nothing to go with it?  You liked the top and bought it without giving any thought as to what you are going to wear with it. Perhaps you bought it in a sale? and thought you would have an occasion to where it sometime.  So, take a long hard look at these items that still have the price tags on. Are likely to wear them. If not, perhaps you could sell them online or at a dress agency. That way at least you can use the money to buy something that you will wear.

Is it the right colour and style for you?

If you like it and it is in the right colour and style for you why has it not been worn.  Look at the item and look through your wardrobe and see how you can style it.  If you think the dress is perhaps too dressy, could you not style it down by wearing it with trainers and a denim jacket?  A shirt dress could be worn open over a t/shirt that is tucked into a skirt. You need to think outside the box and find other ways to style what you have.

Do you wear everything in your wardrobe?

It could be that since you bought this item you may have since bought something else that would now go with it. What you don’t want to do is fill your wardrobe with things that you do not wear. It’s like buying in the sales it’s not a bargain unless you are going to wear it. It makes getting dressed in the morning more difficult as you can’t see what you do have.

Declutter your wardrobe

This is a whole blog on it’s own, but I regularly, cull my wardrobe usually each season, but if you work on the assumption that every time you buy something, something has to go. So, if you replace your black boots, get rid of the old ones, if you buy a new winter coat throw away the old one. This will help not to overfill with things you are not going to wear. It is better to have fewer clothes that you wear most of the time.

Make your wardrobe work for you

A good pair of tailored trousers are great for work teamed with a nice blouse and heals but if you wanted to dress them down try wearing with a slouchy knit and trainers. Perhaps you bought a sparkly top in the sale, rather than wait till you have an occasion to wear it why not wear with your jeans for a night out with the girls. It’s about how you put your outfits together that counts and using each item in different ways.

It all about cost per wear!!
