Are you mindful of the colours you choose to wear?

Mindfulness seems to be the buss word now. Everyone is talking about being mindful, and in the moment. Meditation is something that more people are aware of and more people are doing on a regular basis. Are you mindful of the colours you choose to wear?  Wearing certain colours effects our moods and our emotions releasing the feel- good hormones that help us to feel happier and more confident. This will help you sort out your wardrobe, so you are wearing the colours to make you feel good about yourself.

Today we have so much choice with colours we can choose to wear that I think sometimes we can get overwhelmed and not know where to start. I think that as children we naturally know what suits us, but it is fashion and magazine trends that sometimes as teenagers tell us we should be wearing something else. This is when we can lose our way and start wearing colours just because they are in fashion and not because they flatter our skin tone. Take a step outside the box and be mindful of the colours you choose to wear

All colours like us have an energy, and we can wear certain colours to feel a certain way. For arguments sake the colour blue will calm you down from stressful situations. Blue is the colour of logic and communication so would be a good colour to wear at work or if you were giving a presentation. Blue is often used in hospitals as it known to help calm patients.

On the other end of the spectrum we have Red which has a very high vibration and releases adrenaline and energy, so this is a great colour to wear if you are tired or run down. Don’t wear if you have high blood pressure.

Green is a soothing colour and you hear that TV stations use the green room for presenters to rest in before going on air. So, green is a good colour to wear when relaxing.

Black for me I don’t think of as a colour. It is very authoritative and can sometimes make you unapproachable. It is a very negative colour and can deplete you of energy and yet so many ladies love wearing it. Sometimes, my clients tell me they wear black as it is slimming, but no more so than navy or any other dark colour. So perhaps it’s time to start experimenting a little with colour.

Nature never gets it wrong.

White is another not colour for me and as a warm skin toned person don’t wear white. There are so many lovely colours that you can substitute for white. For example, instead of navy & white, why not choose pink, blue, green, they all go with navy and will add more interest. Think of nature that never gets it wrong. If you see two colours together in nature try wearing the colour combination in your clothes.
