Mullberry Hand Bag £995

Mullberry Handbag £995

Can a girl have too many handbags?  In my book, a girl can never have too many handbags. For others, one functional bag is all she needs.  Which are you?  I have a friend who has all designer bags.  It is what she likes to spend her money on. She looks after them and stores them in their dust bags and they are her indulgence. Her husband has great pleasure buying them for her and that’s her thing.  I have another friend who has one bag that takes her everywhere and when that one needs replacing, she does. Can a girl have too many handbags?  What do you think?

Large/Work Handbags

There is so much choice out there, bags for different occasions, we are spoilt for choice. Personally, I like a large bag when I am working.  I choose not to have a leather one, as these are usually heavy before you put anything in them.  My every day workbag I carry a lot around with me.  On the other hand, when going out for dinner in the evening I carry a much smaller handbag usually a messenger bag with just my essentials: phone, glasses, purse, and lipstick.

Ruck Sacks

Ruck sacks are for other occasions, either travelling or outdoors pursuits.  Make sure that your money is securely zipped up in an inside pocket. I know several people who have been pick- pocketed and had things taken out the front pocket. There are also handbags in the ruck sack style for the followers of fashion.

Messenger Bags

These are a great favourite with me, as you can then be hands free.  They are reasonably safe as they are worn close to your body. Sometimes I even wear mine under my coat if I am shopping in a market for arguments sake. This leather messenger bag here is from Next at £36.

Clutch Bags

These I personally don’t like as there is no handle but they work great if you are going to a wedding and going to put the bag down when you arrive.  Some I notice, come with a wrist handle and are used by ladies as clubbing purses.

Beach Bags

You can have fun with these, they come in all shapes and sizes.  If you are flying away on holiday choose one that will fold flat into your case. The woven ones are fashionable this year, why not buy a plain one like this one from Marks & Spencer at £15.00 and add the Brading, flowers or pom poms etc yourself and make yours original. If you would rather buy it complete try this one from Top Shop at £28.

Fashion Bags

Now you can have fun with these without breaking the bank. I like to have a bag in a nice bright colour.  It adds style to your outfit and it does not need to match the colour of your shoes. It’s a way of accessorising your outfit and making it individual. By choosing a fashion bag as opposed to a designer bag, you can probably afford to have more than one in different colours to compliment your outfits.

Fashion Tips

If you are a petite lady, do not choose a very large bag as it will swamp your frame.  If you are a larger lady don’t choose one too small, as this also will look unbalanced.  In answer to the question Can a girl have too many handbags?   I have to say NO!
