Be On Trend With Velvet This Season

Velvet always comes back in fashion at Christmas time but this year it is everywhere from trouser suits to bomber jackets, tops and cigarette pants the choice is yours but where do you start.  So here are my tips on how to be on trend with velvet this season.

Velvet Trouser Suit

Velvet Trouser Suit

The trusted trouser suit I found this one in Marks and Spencer wide leg velvet trousers for £39.50 and the jacket is £69.00 and they have put it with a black top trimmed with some silver sparkles but I think what would look great with a bright coloured top underneath but then as you know I love colour.

If black is not for you I have found some burgandy cigarette pants in Top Shop at £42.00 and a matching jacket at £75.00.  The advantage of buying a trouser suit of course is that you can wear both items with different pieces in your wardrobe.  Team the trousers with a blouse or jumper and the velvet jacket goes great over jeans.

Velvet Bomber Jacket

Velvet Bomber Jacket

If that is too formal for you try a velvet bomber jacket, I found this one in missguided and yes it is not black but there are many black ones around if that is your choice. This is a much more casual look and can be dressed up or down and being this colour you will be able to wear it into the spring.  It looks fab with jeans or can be dressed up with nice trousers.

There really is so much choice out there, today I have seen velvet leggings, jumpers, coats and jackets of all different styles you just need to have a look round and choose what suits you.

Red Velvet Top

Red Velvet Top

I found this lovely red velvet  top in Zara which you could wear with one of those pleated skirts, smart trousers, or you could dress this down and wear with jeans so a good investment piece that will get lots of wears.

If all of that is still too much for you, why not use velvet as an accessory.  For the Christmas Party Season there are a lot of velvet chokers around in various colours to compliment your christmas outfit.  You could use a velvet clutch to update an outfit or perhaps a pair of velvet heals as they will never be out of fashion and a good investment buy.

I hope that has given you some ideas on how to be on trend with velvet this season.
