My top tips to brighten up your winter wardrobe

I think now we can safety say that autumn is here, and winter is on the way. This weekend we will be turning back the clocks. We will wake up to the dark and get home in the evening in the dark.  With this season brings the lovely autumn colours, falling leaves and great walks in the country. How does the change in weather effect what you wear? For me the grey mornings, dark overcast skies make me want to wear something not only warm but in a nice bright colour to make me feel brighter. So here are my top tips to brighten up your winter wardrobe.

First of all, you need to go through what you already have in your wardrobe. Sort out which items you still love and love to wear, and which items are passed their sell by date. Colour trends change each season, but you need to wear colours from your own colour pallet that you know suit you. If you need any help with that do get in touch. My contact details are at the foot of this email. If you read last week’s email on how to wear red you will now know which red is right for you. Red is one of the key colours this season.

I have found this lovely Cobalt Blue Satin Flute Sleeved Blouse from Marks & Spencer & Spencer at £35.00.  It has beautiful sleeves and is a lovely material. They have teamed this with a Embellished Sequin Pencil Midi Skirt at £45.00 also from Marks & Spencer . This item if you are a card holder has 20% discount) These two items are great for a cool skin tone. Wear them together, or wear the blouse with your favourite jeans or trousers. You can also wear the skirt with a jumper.  They also have an embellished shell top the same as the skirt for £35.00. which would make a great dress. This would make an ideal Christmas outfit that you can dress up or down. Buying these three items will give you several outfits.

I have found this lovely champagne long sleeved lace top from Next at £34.00. Underneath they have put a cream vest at £5.00. This is a very pretty long- sleeved blouse that they have teamed with a pair of high waist straight leg jeans. Now you may already have a pair of trousers in your wardrobe that you could wear with this top to save buying any more. This would also look nice with some formal trousers, or perhaps a midi length pleated skirt and a pair of heals. This blouse is a timeless item that could stay in your wardrobe for many years.

I think that if you can look at the clothes you already have and think about how you could update them. By adding one of these tops you can give new life to your favourite pair of jeans or trousers without having to spend fortune.
