I am always surprised when I look around a room full of people how so few wear colour. So many people spend their lives dressed in black, brown, navy, grey and white. So when I ask the question why do you choose not to wear colour the answer is either a) I like to blend in and not stand out in a crowd or b) I don’t know which colours suit me. So I am going to give you some ideas on how to look and feel fantastic and wear colour.
We all know that colours are mood boosting as they have an energy and the brighter the colour the more the energy it will have. Wear black and it will depleat your energy which I am sure we don’t want to do but you can wear black on the bottom half and perhaps team it up with a coloured top. Some of my clients are worried about getting it wrong and therefore stick to the safe option which is a shame as they are loosing out on an opportunity to shine.
Wearing the wrong colours can make you look tired and stressed but wearing the right colours will bring your face alive, and make you look and feel fantastic. Sounds simple and it is, but if you are nevous about ditching your black or navy security blanket here are my tops tips on how to look and feel fantastic and wear colour.
You don’t have to go from all neutural to full on colour straight away, start by adding small pops of colour. Try adding a colourful camisole underneath your favourite navy or black cardigan and team with a thin belt in the same colour and a pair of colourful shoes. Or take this lovely grey dress by adding colourful accessories you bring your dress to life and make it an outfit and not a boring grey dress.
Scarves are another easy way to accessorise an outift and these small tweaks will make a huge difference and will get you recognised for all the right reasons. As you start to get the compliments and your confidence will grow and you will become more adventurous. Try putting together different colour combinations. Blue and Green for arguements sake!! What I say is nature never its it wrong. Go on be brave and experiment.
I love my denim, jeans and denim skirts for a smart casual look I team them with a white cotton shirt and my blazer. But instead of the usual navy blazer try teaming them with a coloured jacket. I am loving this look, jeans with a t/shirt and a touch of colour with this pale pink jacket which is very on trend with all the neutrals around this season. It does not have to be a bright colour as you may look better in pastles but I think you will agree it makes the outfit look more interesting. Try buying a colourful raincoat for the spring there are some lovely colours in the shops this season and it will make a grey day seem so much brighter. Look and feel fantastic and wear colour.
When choosing a bold colour always team with a staple neutural colour and don’t be afraid to stand out. When you wear colour you will feel different, have more energy and feel more positive. So these a a few tips on how to look and feel fantastic and wear colour.
