How to embrace the colour in your life

Anyone who knows me will know that I love to wear colour.  Why?  because it makes me look and feel fabulous, it gives me confidence knowing that I am looking and feeling good.  Bright colours have lots of energy which make it easier to do everything you want to do in a day, whereas black can deplete your energy. So here I am going to talk about how to embrace the colour in your life.

Lets take a look at nature because it never gets it wrong, look at this stunning picture with the various shades of green, brown and the beautiful blue flowers in the front of the picture.  Would you put green and blue together?  Remember that saying, blue and green should never be seen, and yet they look great together.  Find a top in the best shade of green for yourself and wear with your favourite jeans and I think you will agree it looks great and a great alternative to white.

Looking at these wonderful colours in these flowers taken at the flower market in Amsterdam.  Look how many colours you see that look beauatiful with green.  So, perhaps instead of a pair of black trousers why not choose a pair in green and as you can see so many colours look good with green.  Now the green can be karki, forest, lime, emerald the choice is yours.  A colour combination that is often not worn is Pink and Green which can look stunning.  So, open your mind to colour and instead of black and white, or boring beige venture outside your comfort zone and experiment a little.

I have a board on my Pinterest which is purley for colour pallets take a look as it is really interesting, as it shows how to put colours together that blend with each other and in some of the boards you will see colours that you may not have thought  would work together but some how they do.

Wherever you put the colour is wear the eye will be drawn, so if the widest part of your body is your bottom half wear the darker colours there and put the colour in your top and vise versa.

How to embrace the colour in your life.

This extends into your home also, for arguments sake you wouldn’t want your bedroom painted in lots of bright colours as this would not be a very relaxing place to sleep.  I would suggest warm neturals, and put the colours in your cushions and accessories.  I have one wall in my kitchen painted bright orange as this is the main family room in the house but it is toned down with whites and neutral colours.  If you have a conservatory you might want to bring the garden into the room with colour from there.  Colour is a way of using your personality to express yourself in a way that is comfortable to you.  I hope that I have given you some ideas on how to embrace the colour in your life and perhaps looks at some different colour pallets that you may not have used before.
