Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations

Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations My trainer always said to me that nature never gets if wrong and she is so right. I will show you what I mean by looking at things in nature and transferring the colours into what you wear. Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations. Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations We have all heard to saying, “Blue and green should never be seen unless there is a colour in between” This is so not true now days. Green with denim is a great combination because there are so many shades of green and blue to choose from. What is important is that you choose two warm colours or two cool colours which will tone with each other. I took this picture today in Dorothy Perkins in Debenhams. Here we have denim jeans and a patterned green print top.  It works well with the denim and you could bring out the red in the print by adding a red belt,  wear red shoes with a red handbag. Navy and a bright green look great together and make a great combination for a wedding outfit. Use jewellery, and accessories when putting your outfits together. Scarves are usually full of bright colours and make a great addition to any outfit. Coloured shoes and handbags also help to make a well put together outfit.     Yellow, Green & Cream as a colour combination Nature inspires me to make great colour combinations Nature…

What are your views to wearing face coverings in shops?

What are your views to wearing face coverings in shops? I have been wearing a face mask whenever I go into a shop from the beginning of lock down, but I am surprised at the number of people who do not. As from today it is now law that we do, and there is a fine of £100.00 for anyone not wearing one. Who is going to enforce this? Will it be the security/ shop owners, or shop staff? I cannot see that the police with have enough capacity to be patrolling the shops. What are your views to wearing face coverings in shops? What are your views to wearing face coverings in shops? The one I am wearing here matches a skirt I bought and is like an infinity scarf that you pull over your head. You can then lift it up over your face when you go into a shop. The material is very thin, and I am not sure how effective it is, other than the fact that I have my face covered. (and it does match one of my outfits)!! Up and till now I have been wearing a black mask that I bought on Amazon at the beginning. It is lined in white with a flap to put in a filter which we did, and it felt very secure. I washed it on my return from the shops and ironed with a hot iron. Now that we are going into shops more often, I guess…

Will retail shopping ever be the same again?

Will retail shopping ever be the same again? Have you ventured to the shops since lock down for some retail therapy? Apart from the social distancing, queuing outside and hand sanitising the shops are not the same as before. Is this the new normal? I don’t mind wearing a mask, using the hand sanitiser, or walking around the store one way but it is a totally different experience now. Will retail shopping ever be the same again? Will retail shopping ever be the same again? I have been into town a few times and been into a few stores and yes it is a quite different experience. Hand sanitiser, one-way system, some people are wearing masks, (which will change from next Friday).  In most stores around the till area are clear screens but none of the staff are wearing masks not sure if that will change next week.  Most stores are one in one out, keeping the floor area open. There seems to be plenty of people around and everyone is queuing in an orderly fashion. For me its all about the stock they are carrying. I guess that as they have not sold a lot of the spring stock at full price, there is a limit as to what they can put into sale. Either that or they can put it back in the warehouse for next year. The sale stock I have seen does not appear to very appealing and you can see why they are in the…

The shops are opening next week – will you be visiting them?

The shops are opening next week – will you be visiting them? This is a big question; we have been kept at home for so long now that some people are not sure they want to go out again. Or, on the other side some people are so cabin fever they can’t wait to go out. The shops are opening next week – will you be visiting them? Which camp do you fall in? The shops are opening next week – will you be visiting them? For those of you who do not want to venture out I completely understand. If you have any underlying help problems or live with anyone who has its a risk that you do not want to take.  For those of you who do, I think we must understand that it will not be like it used to be. Things will be different and not sure how yet. We do know that there will be the two- meter distance between customers. Does anyone know if someone with the virus touches a piece of clothing how it stays on the clothes? I thought that the virus could only survive if there was moisture. I saw a program on TV last night (Thursday) about M&S and they said that they would close their fitting rooms and any returns to the store would not be put back out onto the floor. Someone else told me that the virus can survive on clothes for 72 hours which is why…

Here are the positive things I have learnt during lock down

Here are the positive things I have learnt during lock down As we are being drip feed negative news every day on the TV it is sometimes hard to remain positive. I try not to listen to the news to often and especially not last thing at night, but do listen to the teatime update so I am aware of what is going on. This time will pass and who knows that the new normal will be, but it will pass. I wanted to share with you some of the positive things I have been doing to cope with the lock down and what I have learnt. Here are the positive things I have learnt during lock down I did not want to look back after this time and think that I wasted the time that I had. In normal day to day living most of us say if I only had time, I would do …. Well now I did have the time, and this is what I did.   Stepped up my exercising I usually attended a Pilates class once a week and my Pilates teacher took her classes online with Zoom. This has turned out great for me as I now do two classes a week instead of my usual one. I bought myself an exercise resistant band and now do another class on YouTube using the bands. This is helping particularly with my upper body strength. I have also done a few routines with my daughter on…
