Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe.

Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe. The one thing I have learnt during this lock down is that I have too many clothes in my wardrobe that I do not wear. I am a great hoarder and find it difficult to let go of things, and yet I also love to buy new things. I try to work on a one in, one out policy, but I still have things that I hold onto in case I have an occasion to wear them. Why do you have things in your wardrobe that you do not wear? Your wardrobe should be full of things you love and love to wear. Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe. I feel that we all have a light at the end of the tunnel now and can look forward to coming out of lock down. We will be able to put away our thick winter clothes and start to wear lighter layers. It’s kind of makes me think of a Caterpillar maturing into a Butterfly. We have had our wings clipped for so long now I cannot wait to fly. Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe. Before you let something go see if you can find another use for it or style it in another way. In a previous  Blog I wrote about how you can re-style clothes that you are no longer wearing. Here are some ideas on how you can change the use of…

Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe?

Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? This is an interesting one, as you will find items that you did not realise you had. This often happens when you are decluttering. Have you ever bought a new top, only to find when you get home, that you already have a similar one in your wardrobe? Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? Now we are unable to go shopping into stores which I really miss. The whole experience of going shopping with a friend looking around the shops. Stopping for coffee or lunch, it is the whole experience I miss. When choosing a new item for my wardrobe, I like to look at the colour, material. The fit all of which we are unable to do. I am not a great lover of shopping online as the colours are not always the same. I end up ordering several sizes to find the right size so the whole pleasure is taken away. Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? As times are quiet different and perhaps, we may not have the funds now to buy new clothes, why not look at what you already have. This week I found a jumper that I forgot that I had as it had got put to the bottom of a pile. Whilst you are doing this it is good opportunity to look at what you no longer wear. It…

How to keep stylish and warm in this cold weather.

How to keep stylish and warm in this cold weather. It is very cold out there this week with the snow, particularly with that very cold wind. Having a dog, we must venture out whatever the weather, wind, rain, or snow. This is a good thing as we do need to get some exercise and I love being out in nature. However, I still like to look and feel nice even when it is cold. Here are my tips on how to keep stylish and warm in the cold weather. How to keep stylish and warm in this cold weather. If you are outside in the cold, I like to add a scarf like these here. These are handmade and ethically sourced and made 100% viscose which is ideal for anyone who is allergic to wool. They are nice and warm and long enough to wear wrapped right around your neck as you can see in this picture. I have them for sale on my website my Facebook or Instagram Shops for £26.95 each and they make a perfect gift to yourself. I think that a scarf on your winter coat really can brighten it up. The day I took this picture it was not as cold as it is now, but it really is nice and warm worn inside your coat. The beauty of these is they have many colours and can be worn with lots of different coats and jumpers. As I have said in my recent blogs…

Can wearing colour really change the way you feel?

Can wearing colour really change the way you feel? Can wearing colour really change the way you feel? I would answer that question with a big fat YES. Before I went for my training for Colour Analysis. I knew that wearing certain colours did nothing for me. Grey is a perfect example if I wore all grey, I felt all grey. At that time, I did not understand why. I learnt that certain shades of grey had the wrong undertone, and all shades of grey had a different strength of colour. Here I am going to talk about how wearing colour really can change the way you feel. Most people can wear most colours, but it is the undertone and strength of colour that counts What are you choosing to wear during lockdown at home? We are all going through extremely different times now and I do not know about you, but I have times when I am really struggling. It would be so easy to put on my track bottoms and a hoodie and sit at my computer like that. I choose not to do that because I would not be able to be in work dressed like that. Every morning I have a shower, put on some make up and lippy then dress for the day. Depending on how I feel I choose the appropriate colour to wear in a top and add some jewellery. As your bottom half cannot be seen a pair of jeans or casual trousers…

My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping

Personally, I am not a lover of online shopping. There is nothing I like better than going shopping for some retail therapy.  We usually make an event of it and go with a friend, browse around the shops stop for coffee and lunch and enjoy a real girly day. Many of us has been forced to shopping online as they are shielding and not wanting to go into shops.  Here are my reasons why I hate online clothes shopping. My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping   My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping                     My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping Above left is a jumper that I ordered from Marks & Spencer and as you can see from the screen shot from their website is looks a lovely warm red with a yellow undertone. This colour will work perfectly with my warm skin tone. The picture on the right is the jumper that arrived. As you can see it is a dark burgundy red with a blue undertone that will work well with a cool skin tone. How can it be so different I do not know? This has happened to me on so many occasions now that it puts me off ordering online. Yes, you can return items, but is time consuming. This was the main reason for not doing online colour sessions I love what I…

Start wearing your unworn clothes or let them go A couple of weeks ago I wrote a Blog about how you can re-style clothes that you are no longer wearing. Here are some ideas on how you can change the use of a blouse or your jeans. I also have a page on my Pinterest with some ideas on how to re-use things that you don’t wear into something that you will. How do you let things go? It’s all very well saying you need to de-clutter, you need to streamline what clothes you have, but how do you do that if you still love the things that you have. Firstly, I think that you need to  look at what you…

Separates can give you more outfits with fewer clothes

Separates can give you more outfits with fewer clothes Separates are good wardrobe staples and are known today as “Co-ords” and are a great way to build a capsule wardrobe. They work well when you are going on holiday. Separates can give you more outfits with fewer clothes Separates can give you more outfits with fewer clothes Take this outfit here a midi skirt with an off the shoulder top and worn together make a dress. What I liked about the skirt was the movement with the splits at the side. It is also button through so you can be as daring as you like. The top is worn off the shoulder and with this pattern on the material it is ideal for packing as it does not crease. They look great worn together as a dress, but they can also be worn separately. The skirt I am going to wear with a red blouse, navy t/shirt and a cream top. The top on the other hand looks great with jeans, and my white cropped trousers. So, as you can see you can make many items Separates can give you more outfits with fewer clothes Separates or co-ords, are also a great way to layer your clothes, especially if you do not know what the weather is going to be. A look that I love to wear, is a t/shirt or vest top with a button through cardigan worn over the top. I have collected several of these cardigans over…
