Why co-ordinating items are an investment in your wardrobe.

I love to buy co-ordinating items as it gives an opportunity to build and make more outfits with fewer items. Here are my tips on why coordinating items are an investment in your wardrobe. Why co-ordinating items are an investment in your wardrobe. Why co-ordinating items are an investment in your wardrobe. Whilst we are still unable to visit the shops, I have been looking online for some co-ordinating items to show you. I came across two examples from the Emma Willis range at Next. I love these satin wide leg trousers which I think could make a good basic to have in your wardrobe. If you are a warm skin toned lady Khaki is a good colour for you and will work well with other colours you already have in your wardrobe. These trousers could be dressed up with a sandal and dressed down with trainer. Think of what other tops you already have that you could wear with these trousers. It could be another blouse, t/shirt, or vest top. You could wear a jacket if you wanted to make it more formal. With the trousers being a plain colour, the possibilities are endless. These retail at £38.00 which is a good price point for something that you will get a lot of wear out of. (Think price per wear) This comes with a beautiful satin blouse (also from Next). This is a loosely fitted shape with mid-length sleeves and a flattering V-neck and retails at £28.00. It looks…

Will you be going back to the High Street in April?

Will you be going back to the High Street in April? Will you be going back to the High Street in April? I will as I cannot wait to get back to normal whatever the new normal will be. I have really missed the whole retail experience. Being able to touch, feel, and see, what I am buying means so much to me. As I have said before the colours online do not always look the same as in person. This was the reason why I decided not to take my business online. I have an  example in a blog a wrote about a red jumper that I ordered online and how different the colour looked in the flesh. I also love going out with a friend having a look around the shops and not necessarily buying anything. Stopping for a coffee or lunch and having a nice girly time. Will you be going back to the High Street in April? Following on from last week’s blog where you were freeing yourself from clutter and spring cleaning your wardrobe. You may now have some gaps you would like to fill. Perhaps you have had to let go certain items that were past their sell by date and you now need to replace a few things. You can look online from the comfort of your home to get an idea for what is available, but I will wait until the shops open next month before I buy. Most sites have a…

Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? This is an interesting one, as you will find items that you did not realise you had. This often happens when you are decluttering. Have you ever bought a new top, only to find when you get home, that you already have a similar one in your wardrobe? Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? Now we are unable to go shopping into stores which I really miss. The whole experience of going shopping with a friend looking around the shops. Stopping for coffee or lunch, it is the whole experience I miss. When choosing a new item for my wardrobe, I like to look at the colour, material. The fit all of which we are unable to do. I am not a great lover of shopping online as the colours are not always the same. I end up ordering several sizes to find the right size so the whole pleasure is taken away. Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? As times are quiet different and perhaps, we may not have the funds now to buy new clothes, why not look at what you already have. This week I found a jumper that I forgot that I had as it had got put to the bottom of a pile. Whilst you are doing this it is good opportunity to look at what you no longer wear. It…

My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping

Personally, I am not a lover of online shopping. There is nothing I like better than going shopping for some retail therapy.  We usually make an event of it and go with a friend, browse around the shops stop for coffee and lunch and enjoy a real girly day. Many of us has been forced to shopping online as they are shielding and not wanting to go into shops.  Here are my reasons why I hate online clothes shopping. My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping   My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping                     My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping Above left is a jumper that I ordered from Marks & Spencer and as you can see from the screen shot from their website is looks a lovely warm red with a yellow undertone. This colour will work perfectly with my warm skin tone. The picture on the right is the jumper that arrived. As you can see it is a dark burgundy red with a blue undertone that will work well with a cool skin tone. How can it be so different I do not know? This has happened to me on so many occasions now that it puts me off ordering online. Yes, you can return items, but is time consuming. This was the main reason for not doing online colour sessions I love what I…

Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper

I do not normally wear a Christmas jumper as it usually all about party wear and as that is not the case this year. I thought that I would. I did not want to spend too much on something that I would not get to wear to much, so I set myself a budget of £20.00. Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper One site that I came upon is Shein.co.uk and this is not a company I have ordered from before. Everything on here is cheap and so I am not sure of the quality, but I loved this red one. Red is obviously a Christmas colour, but there are a lot of other colours in this too. What I liked about it was the length as it comes down over the bottom. This jumper is only £13.49 so not sure on the quality, but I guess it depends on how long you expect it to last and how often you are going to wear it.           Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper If you prefer a sweatshirt to a jumper I found this one at a company called boutiquefeeluk . This is another company I have not ordered from.  I love this one, and if grey is…

How to experiment with different colour combinations

How to experiment with different colour combinations I think that we get stuck in a rut with how we dress as we tend to wear what we usually wear. We get set in the colour combinations that we choose because if we know that they work, we tend not to look for others. As times are hard now and we may not have as much disposal income to invest in new items. It is important to find new combinations with the clothes that we do have. Here are my tips on how to experiment with different colour combinations. How to experiment with different colour combinations It is always nice to put different colour combinations together rather than say black and white. (Well I do not consider black or white to be a colour really, they are just at opposite ends of the colour spectrum) With so many beautiful colours out there I think it is a shame not to embrace colour. Apart from the way you feel in a certain colour it is nice to try different colour combinations that you may not have tried before. Take a navy or black skirt, do not reach for the white blouse, think about which colours you know that suit you and choose one of those. Navy and black are both good staple colours to have in your wardrobe as so many colours would team up well which is why they are a good wardrobe staple. If you are unsure look at nature…

You can do this if you inject some colour into your life in these difficult times. Colour has so many therapeutic properties it is worth understanding the benefits of wearing colour. The best way I know to make me feel good (even when I am not feeling it) is to wear a pop of colour. This instantly makes me feel better. Colour always brightens my day. It lights up my face, lifts my spirits and gets me some lovely compliments. Inject some colour into your life in these difficult times Inject some colour into your life in these difficult times. Colour is so much more than the colour that you see. All colours have an energy and can make you feel a certain way. When I went for my training the trainer (Sue) asked me what is your favourite colour? I said Red and Orange. Sue: what do you wear when you a relaxing and watching TV?  Me:  probably the same colours.  Sue: How do you relax?  Me: I said I do not, I am…
