Will you be going back to the High Street in April?

Will you be going back to the High Street in April? Will you be going back to the High Street in April? I will as I cannot wait to get back to normal whatever the new normal will be. I have really missed the whole retail experience. Being able to touch, feel, and see, what I am buying means so much to me. As I have said before the colours online do not always look the same as in person. This was the reason why I decided not to take my business online. I have an  example in a blog a wrote about a red jumper that I ordered online and how different the colour looked in the flesh. I also love going out with a friend having a look around the shops and not necessarily buying anything. Stopping for a coffee or lunch and having a nice girly time. Will you be going back to the High Street in April? Following on from last week’s blog where you were freeing yourself from clutter and spring cleaning your wardrobe. You may now have some gaps you would like to fill. Perhaps you have had to let go certain items that were past their sell by date and you now need to replace a few things. You can look online from the comfort of your home to get an idea for what is available, but I will wait until the shops open next month before I buy. Most sites have a…

Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe.

Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe. The one thing I have learnt during this lock down is that I have too many clothes in my wardrobe that I do not wear. I am a great hoarder and find it difficult to let go of things, and yet I also love to buy new things. I try to work on a one in, one out policy, but I still have things that I hold onto in case I have an occasion to wear them. Why do you have things in your wardrobe that you do not wear? Your wardrobe should be full of things you love and love to wear. Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe. I feel that we all have a light at the end of the tunnel now and can look forward to coming out of lock down. We will be able to put away our thick winter clothes and start to wear lighter layers. It’s kind of makes me think of a Caterpillar maturing into a Butterfly. We have had our wings clipped for so long now I cannot wait to fly. Free yourself of clutter and spring clean your wardrobe. Before you let something go see if you can find another use for it or style it in another way. In a previous  Blog I wrote about how you can re-style clothes that you are no longer wearing. Here are some ideas on how you can change the use of…

Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe?

Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? This is an interesting one, as you will find items that you did not realise you had. This often happens when you are decluttering. Have you ever bought a new top, only to find when you get home, that you already have a similar one in your wardrobe? Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? Now we are unable to go shopping into stores which I really miss. The whole experience of going shopping with a friend looking around the shops. Stopping for coffee or lunch, it is the whole experience I miss. When choosing a new item for my wardrobe, I like to look at the colour, material. The fit all of which we are unable to do. I am not a great lover of shopping online as the colours are not always the same. I end up ordering several sizes to find the right size so the whole pleasure is taken away. Have you ever thought about shopping your own wardrobe? As times are quiet different and perhaps, we may not have the funds now to buy new clothes, why not look at what you already have. This week I found a jumper that I forgot that I had as it had got put to the bottom of a pile. Whilst you are doing this it is good opportunity to look at what you no longer wear. It…

Dress for Zoom land with one jumper five looks.

Dress for zoom land one jumper five looks The way things are now more and more of us are using Zoom to connect with clients. This has resulted in many of us dressing only the top half of the body as that is the only part that is seen. Personally, I always put my makeup on, choose a nice top and match with some accessories. This I do for me, if I feel good, it increases my mood and makes me more effective in my day. In this blog I am going to show you how to dress for zoom land with one jumper and five looks. Dress for Zoom land with one jumper five looks. Here is my favourite blue jumper which I love as it is a lightweight wool that is also warm. It is in a warm blue and blue is a colour I love to wear when working. Blue is the colour of logic and helps with concentration. This is one look for this jumper, and we all have accessories and jewellery we can use to accessorise. This necklace is hand made with glow beads and has been put together in my “Spring colours”. It has been a great purchase for me as it brings to life so many of my tops and jumpers. For more information and other seasons colours check them out on my website. Choose the colour you wear to choose how you feel

Choose the colour you wear to choose how you feel For the last two weeks I have been talking about colour and how it can make you feel. The first blog was about the Heart Chakra colours of Green and Pink.  Last week we looked at Red, Blue, and Purple. Here is the link to those blogs for a recap. This week I am going to be talking about Orange, Yellow and Turquoise. Choose the colour you wear to choose how you feel. Choose the colour you wear to choose how you feel Orange This is one of my favourite colours but not everyone can wear orange as it has a yellow undertone. It is the colour of the Sacral Chakra which is known for Creativity, Confidence and Passion. The colour Orange has an energising feel, promoting confidence and wellbeing. It can be an antidepressant, and it encourages creativity. It is known to have beneficial effects on the digestive and reproduction systems.   Wearing Orange Orange is a combination of Red and Yellow and has qualities of both. Red tends to stimulate physically, while yellow stimulates mentally, thus orange is doubly stimulating. Some people can find it too stimulating. It can be worn in a more diluted colour to more of a peach shade. Orange like Red suggest warmth and is symbolic of the sun. As such, the colour has high positive vibrations and holds a strong attraction to a lot of people. If you have a cool skin tone…

Change the colour you are wearing to change your mood.

Change the colour your are wearing to change your mood Can this be true? YES, it can, it has been proven that colour can enhance your mood. This blog is following on from last week’s blog “Can wearing colour really change the way you feel?” In this blog post we looked at the two heart chakra colours pink and green. This week we are looking at Red, Blue, and Purple and their properties and when to wear these colours. Change the colour you are wearing to change your mood. You really can choose colours that will change your mood and make you feel better. How does not want to that at this moment in time, I think we can all do with a little help on how to make ourselves feel better and more able to cope in these difficult times. Change the colour you are wearing to change your mood Red Red is the base or root charka which activates the circulatory and nervous systems. It is known to raise blood pressure but can strengthen and stimulate the body. Our blood contains red blood corpuscles which provides nourishment to our organs. It will give you energy, so if you are tired wear something red and consciously breath its energy into your body. If red is too strong a colour for you to wear as a jumper you can wear red socks or underwear so you can have the energic properties of the colour. Red is the colour of assertiveness,…

Can wearing colour really change the way you feel?

Can wearing colour really change the way you feel? Can wearing colour really change the way you feel? I would answer that question with a big fat YES. Before I went for my training for Colour Analysis. I knew that wearing certain colours did nothing for me. Grey is a perfect example if I wore all grey, I felt all grey. At that time, I did not understand why. I learnt that certain shades of grey had the wrong undertone, and all shades of grey had a different strength of colour. Here I am going to talk about how wearing colour really can change the way you feel. Most people can wear most colours, but it is the undertone and strength of colour that counts What are you choosing to wear during lockdown at home? We are all going through extremely different times now and I do not know about you, but I have times when I am really struggling. It would be so easy to put on my track bottoms and a hoodie and sit at my computer like that. I choose not to do that because I would not be able to be in work dressed like that. Every morning I have a shower, put on some make up and lippy then dress for the day. Depending on how I feel I choose the appropriate colour to wear in a top and add some jewellery. As your bottom half cannot be seen a pair of jeans or casual trousers…

My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping

Personally, I am not a lover of online shopping. There is nothing I like better than going shopping for some retail therapy.  We usually make an event of it and go with a friend, browse around the shops stop for coffee and lunch and enjoy a real girly day. Many of us has been forced to shopping online as they are shielding and not wanting to go into shops.  Here are my reasons why I hate online clothes shopping. My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping   My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping                     My reasons why I hate online clothes shopping Above left is a jumper that I ordered from Marks & Spencer and as you can see from the screen shot from their website is looks a lovely warm red with a yellow undertone. This colour will work perfectly with my warm skin tone. The picture on the right is the jumper that arrived. As you can see it is a dark burgundy red with a blue undertone that will work well with a cool skin tone. How can it be so different I do not know? This has happened to me on so many occasions now that it puts me off ordering online. Yes, you can return items, but is time consuming. This was the main reason for not doing online colour sessions I love what I…

Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper

I do not normally wear a Christmas jumper as it usually all about party wear and as that is not the case this year. I thought that I would. I did not want to spend too much on something that I would not get to wear to much, so I set myself a budget of £20.00. Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper One site that I came upon is Shein.co.uk and this is not a company I have ordered from before. Everything on here is cheap and so I am not sure of the quality, but I loved this red one. Red is obviously a Christmas colour, but there are a lot of other colours in this too. What I liked about it was the length as it comes down over the bottom. This jumper is only £13.49 so not sure on the quality, but I guess it depends on how long you expect it to last and how often you are going to wear it.           Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper Here are some of my suggestions for a Christmas Jumper If you prefer a sweatshirt to a jumper I found this one at a company called boutiquefeeluk . This is another company I have not ordered from.  I love this one, and if grey is…

How to experiment with different colour combinations

How to experiment with different colour combinations I think that we get stuck in a rut with how we dress as we tend to wear what we usually wear. We get set in the colour combinations that we choose because if we know that they work, we tend not to look for others. As times are hard now and we may not have as much disposal income to invest in new items. It is important to find new combinations with the clothes that we do have. Here are my tips on how to experiment with different colour combinations. How to experiment with different colour combinations It is always nice to put different colour combinations together rather than say black and white. (Well I do not consider black or white to be a colour really, they are just at opposite ends of the colour spectrum) With so many beautiful colours out there I think it is a shame not to embrace colour. Apart from the way you feel in a certain colour it is nice to try different colour combinations that you may not have tried before. Take a navy or black skirt, do not reach for the white blouse, think about which colours you know that suit you and choose one of those. Navy and black are both good staple colours to have in your wardrobe as so many colours would team up well which is why they are a good wardrobe staple. If you are unsure look at nature…
