Burgundy is the colour of the season but can I wear it?

It looks like burgundy is the colour of the season, some are calling the colour Berry Red. Burgundy is more known to be a cool colour but there are versions with warm tones too so it would depend on the item.  So can everyone where this seasons colour. Yes, you can it will depend on the item in question. Manufacturers often produce colours now with both cool and warm tones so that both warm and cool can wear them.

I found these on the Next website from Joe Browns Red Berry Boot Cut Cord Trousers. They retail at £54.00 with a matching jacket at £80.00 The attractive pussybow blouse also Joe Browns £52.00 which also looks great with a pair of denim jeans.

It is how you style your outfit that counts.

So, if you have a warm skin tone this burgundy may not be your preferred colour choice BUT there is a warm toned burgundy out there for you. If would like to wear burgundy trousers but feel the colour is too cool for you try wearing with one of your power colours.

Burgundy will work well with an orange, yellow/mustard or teal colour which would come out of your warm pallet. Check out my Pinterest board for some ideas for which colours you can put with Burgundy. Here are some options of colours you can team with burgundy both warm and cool toned.

Chocolate Brown?

There are more brown pieces around this season than usual which would be a great alternative to the burgundy. Is Brown the new Black? I don’t think so, as there are so many ladies that love black it will never be out of fashion. I love brown as it is much softer than black and being warm toned it suits my skin tone so much better. I also cannot wear white and so brown with a lovely cream works well for me.

Accessories

You can always add your colour in your accessories, perhaps a handbag, pair of shoes or boots, scarf or some jewellery. You are embracing the fashion but not comprising on your colour and style.

Burgundy is the colour of the season, but can I wear it?

Do not be dictated to by the fashion world. Burgundy/Berry might be everywhere in the shops, but it does not mean you have to wear it. I am a great believer in being your own woman and finding your own sense of style. I do follow the fashion trends but with my own tweak. I will not wear something that is not in my style and complimenting my body shape. Or wear colours that do not compliment my skin tone and why would I? I want to wear what works for me, which gives me confidence to be who I want to be.
